Although in Mathew 10, Jesus tells his disciples not to bring anything. But today’s world it is always a good idea to be prepared to be used by God. So really what are these 7 items we should all carry everywhere we go? Some of these are obvious as others aren’t.
1. Bible
This however is a bit obvious. The lack of knowledge is a tool for the enemy to use against us. John 10:10 talks about the enemy is here only to steal, kill, and destroy. So really the goal for the enemy is to use your lack of knowledge against you and deceive you into sin.
It is also a great way to reach out to random strangers, as we are called to love on others as He loves us. Colossians 3:14 says, “Above all, put on love – the perfect bond of unity.”
Sometimes a bible might be too big to carry everywhere you go, but today’s technology allows us to have an alternative. If you have a smart phone or really any phone that can have APPS you can download the bible app. My recommendation is YouVersion it really comes in handy for all cases.
2. Pen
As you go out into the world and walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) sometimes you will come across people looking for a church to come to or they just want to get connected with you or something where they can get help and you know people and places, this is where the pen comes in handy.
Before you leave anywhere from home it’s always a good idea to check and see if your pen has ink, or you can just bring two you never know when someone else might need a pen.
Pens have been around for 5,000 years so before Jesus stepped foot onto this earth. So, you can imagine how many pens are in the world today and 15 million pens are sold and manufactured every day. Even though this number is huge it still doesn’t cover the population that doesn’t have pens on them so it’s a good idea to have one or two to use or give out as a blessing.
3. Sharpie
Sometimes pens are good for the time so a sharpie may be an alternative, but be careful where you use a sharpie as it is a permanent marker.
4. Notebook Big or Small
Sometimes God can give us some revelation or a word of knowledge as you can find in the Gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12. So really what if we can’t carry a notebook no matter how the size is?
Again today’s technology becomes useful, download the APP of course! My recommendation is to download Inkpad. The reason is becomes if you lose your phone or something bad happens you can redownload the app on another device and get the same notes you have written on the previous device, just make sure you are connected to the internet when writing notes so it can sync your information.
5. Sticky Pad
It’s a good idea to carry a sticky pad every single place you go you never know when you need to write something down for someone or you can use this as an alternative to the notebook but I only recommend you to use this as a note offering another words use it only for others.
6. Money
1 Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pieced themselves with many pains.
As we learn this scripture we must learn to walk by faith as we freely give to the needy. There will be many times where the Lord can use us to give money to others, or even buy certain essentials such as food or clothing.
Be open to bless others as you freely give it as Jesus says in Luke 6:30 “Give to everyone who asks you, and from one who takes your things, don’t ask for them back”
7. Spare Prayer Cloths
Prayer over cloths and blessing over them is a good idea for a lot of things which today we won’t talk about but essential to ourselves as we receive the prayer within the cloth. I recommend getting tiny prayer cloths, pray over all of them then give them all out. It will bless many as it is passed on!
