Many of us think ministry is a great way to serve God, it is but only if it is in the Lords will for you to serve in ministry. Now let us be honest here this sounds a bit fishy I know. But if we aren’t called into ministry we can get ourselves in a heap of trouble.
You see if we don’t use prayer on every aspects of our lives everywhere we go, the enemy can swoop in and try to lie to you. This is a harsh truth. I myself learned that prayer is essential not only to our spirit but body as well. Don’t believe me? Read the bible.
Like many case people want to serve God, and that’s good but they need to be careful on what choices they make on the way they serve and not jump to every opportunity that is open to them. Here is why:
1. Choices can lead into disaster if we don’t pray on it first
2. Starting a revival without the Lord saying to can be disastrous
3. A guest speaker is in town and you ask them to speak at your church.
I have started a new program in my ministry several times without praying on it and have failed in result. This was a hard lesson for me learn. But, then I began to actually pray. In the summer of 2016 a good friend of mine Ron, and I prayed before going live with him playing the guitar, later down the line the Lord turned it into the web show known as “Fire Starters in the Morning”. A show with so much blessings, viewers from around the world on Facebook and YouTube fellowshipping with us Live. We began praying for others, praise repots started getting sent by email, messaging, or even by phone.
This is such a great show I love doing. We fellowship, and just say what is on our hearts and pray all sorts of things. Serving God should be the desire of our hearts, because in result He promises to reward us greatly.
Yes, we are all still learning, that’s what church is for. Don’t forget the most important step by reading the word of God in the Bible!
The following steps will grant you great wisdom on how to do and what to do:
1. Read the Bible
2. Pray to God all the time
3. Thank the Lord for every second of your life
4. Go to church
5. Fellowship
6. Ask your pastor/spiritual mentor for help
The “I don’t have to go to church in order to have a relationship with God” excuse is true but up to an extent. You must go to church to build a foundation under you to build you up into a greater man or woman that God intended you to be.
Yes, sometimes we have things to do during the day but really you must make time for the Lord in your life as much as possible. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Probably the most well-known scripture, but ultimately saying God gave us His everything and we shall do the same in return.
This can be hard to make time for Him, but what we can do is pray “Lord I know I have so much to do, but make time for me to fellowship with you, read your word, go to church, and thank you for the opportunity for letting me serve you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen!”
That prayer takes 10 seconds, so all in all a simple but powerful prayer.
